Soil Science laboratory in this Institute is utilized for handling practical classes for the courses in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry. The laboratory has facilities for estimation of soil physical properties like Bulk density, Particle density, porosity as well as Soil pH and Electrical conductivity.

All types of rocks and minerals, manure and fertilizers are available for practical purpose. Students are trained to maintain a permanent manurial plot in which different trials consisting of combination of manures and fertilizers are being tried for Soil fertility evaluation.

Students are given skill oriented training in the preparation of different types of compost. Periodical exposure visits are arranged for the students to research Institutes and farms to study about the methodologies for enhancing the soil fertility. Free soil health camps are organized in villages before the cropping season every year. Students collect the soil samples, get them analyzed for primary, secondary and micro nutrients and issue soil health card to the farmers and advise them about their soil status and suitability of crops.
